In the fall of 2005, after a 12-month renovation, the historic Hotel des Bergues reopened as the Four Seasons Hotel des Bergues. The hotel’s decor borrows its watery palette from the lake: Shades of Wedgwood blue and light greens color the hotel’s 83 rooms and 13 suites, where toile de Jouy wall coverings complement whitewashed, Louis Philippe–style furnishings. The restoration also revived the building’s Salle des Nations, an opulent ballroom created for the first League of Nations meeting in 1920. Accommodations 103 residential style guest rooms and suites. Recreation The Hotel des Bergues’ bar serves as an ideal gathering place, where you can sip a cocktail while viewing the lake and the Quai des Bergues. Dining A private section of Il Lago, the Four Seasons’ exceptional northern Italian restaurant, can be reserved for morning meetings. Worthy Diversion Old town, with its magnificent 16- through 18th-century architecture, is a 10-minute walk. Rates The 3,229-square-foot Royal Suite offers incredible views of the city and Lake Geneva from a private terrace for $11,619.
