Niyama (niyama.peraquum.com), the Maldivian resort by the Singapore-based Per Aquum group, debuted 48 family-friendly villas in February. Located on a private island connected to the resort’s main island, the new accommodations include one- and two-bedroom suites with plunge pools, personal butlers, and direct beach access.
Also in February, St. Lucia’s Ladera Resort (ladera.com) completed its Paradise Ridge Collection, a new section of the property featuring one villa and five suites that overlook the Caribbean Sea and the Pitons. Each of the accommodations includes hand-carved furniture and local textiles and follows the resort’s trademark open-wall concept.
At the Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea (fourseasons.com), a $3 million upgrade has culminated in the renovations of the property’s Maile and Lokelani suites. Completed in July, both three-bedroom accommodations blend traditional Hawaiian patterns and bright colors with con-temporary furnishings and expansive lanais over-looking the Pacific.
