FrontRunners: The British Are Coming

<< Back to Robb Report, Exotic Pleasures

In the early 1900s, Morven Park Mansion, set in the Blue Ridge Mountains in Leesburg, Va., was home to the state’s reform governor Westmoreland Davis. On the grounds of the estate, Davis also operated a horse farm that became a leading breeder of Thoroughbreds. The 1,200-acre Morven Park therefore seems an apt location for the first-ever America’s Cup of Polo (www.americascupofpolo.com), a match between U.S. and British teams that will take place May 12. All funds raised by the event will benefit the Journey for the Cure Foundation, which supports the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, the MS Society, and the park itself.
