To celebrate the inaugural fall Bing Crosby horse-racing season at the legendary Del Mar Thoroughbred Club in San Diego, the Lodge at Torrey Pines is offering a two-night package with racetrack access. Available for the duration of the extended season, which runs November 7 through 30, the Winner’s Package includes a table at Del Mar’s trackside Clubhouse Terrace restaurant. Daily breakfast for two at the lodge and chauffeured Audi shuttle service will also be available.
The Del Mar Thoroughbred Club’s first-ever Bing Crosby Season will pay tribute to the glamour of the 1930s, the era during which Crosby founded the racetrack along with his fellow celebrities Pat O’Brien, Gary Cooper, and others. Visitors are encouraged to dress up on opening day (Friday, November 7) for an old-Hollywood fashion contest, with awards for best-dressed couple, most glamorous, and best celebrity look-alike. In addition to the races—which take place Friday through Sunday during the first week and Thursday through Sunday during the remaining weeks—a host of events are scheduled, from large-scale concerts to a beer and cider festival.
