At the end of June, an opulent members-only club in London will launch its soft opening, followed by the full opening in July, giving globe-trotters the chance to recharge in the palatial facility. Occupying all six floors of a 19th-century Regency warehouse, Devonshire Club features a laundry list of over-the-top amenities certain to keep guests entertained. The 110-seat brasserie is equipped with lounge-style chairs, a bar, and a stand-alone fireplace. The seasonal menu includes specialties from the Côte d’Azure, as well as favorite British dishes, and a large oyster bar serves an array of shellfish, ceviche, sashimi, and caviar. The private cocktail bar features a grand piano and sumptuous seating. In addition, an enclosed, glass winter-garden bar showcases comfortable couches, a fully stocked bar, and floor-to-ceiling windows highlighting gorgeous outdoor gardens. Other offerings include 68 rooms and suites, 3 bars, a screening room, a private gym with personal trainers, a Pilates studio, and blow-dry and nail bars.
Refreshed after a $36.5 million renovation, the 58,000-square-foot building seamlessly melds historic charm with modern conveniences, with interiors by London-based interior-design firm March & White. The club also is distinguished by elegant chandeliers and glassworks by Seguso in Murano; stained-glass windows by Harry Cardross; and custom-made furniture crafted by a variety of British designers. Devonshire Club is located in Devonshire Square, a bustling London neighborhood boasting a plethora of shops, restaurants, and bars. The club is now accepting membership applications. A founder membership costs around $3,500 per year, while a 10-year debenture membership costs around $35,000. (devonshire.club)
