Sneak Peek: Raffles Praslin, Seychelles

Raffles opened its new location on the northeastern tip of Praslin, an island in the Seychelles, on February 1. The resort features 86 villas and six dining options. Amenities include an expansive spa—where unique services include a crushed pearl exfoliation treatment—a kids program, kayaking, scuba diving, and sailing. Island attractions include helicopter rides and an 18-hole golf course. The resort neighbors the Vallée de Mai, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, which is home to endangered species like the Seychelles Black Parrot. Raffles is a 15-minute flight from the nation’s capital, Mahé. Twenty minutes on a ferry will take guests to the island of La Digue, and a 10-minute water-taxi ride will get them to nearby Curieuse. Rates start at $1,400 for a villa, but through April 30, 2011, the hotel is offering special introductory packages. (800.768.9009, www.raffles.com)
