As the holiday season approaches, The Ritz-Carlton, Lake Tahoe is preparing to welcome guests to the resort and make them feel right at home when they celebrate the holidays in the mountains. With a variety of creative holiday workshops, complimentary activities for the whole family, decadent feasts and other special events planned, the holiday season is sure to be nothing short of magical.
Special appearances by Santa and Mrs. Claus are scheduled as the Christmas holiday nears. On Saturday, December 19, the couple will be available for photos from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in The Living Room, followed by story time with Mrs. Claus from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Kids are also invited to participate in Ritz Kids crafts with Mrs. Claus from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. December 21 through December 23. The cost to participate is $100 USD per child and includes craft-making materials.

Art of Mixology: December 6 and 13; 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
This entertaining, educational experience will feature freshly cut herbs, use of classic ingredients such as bitters, and infused liquors to create three unique cocktails paired with appetizers. Advance reservations required. $40 USD per person (ages 21+)
Santa’s Gingerbread Workshop: December 18 through December 22; 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Kids and kids at heart are invited to work alongside a Ritz-Carlton pastry chef in this one-of-a-kind workshop where you’ll work with your family to build a personalized gingerbread house fit for the North Pole. Café Gourmand in Café Blue: Daily from December 18 through January 3; 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
From candy popcorn to chocolate fondue to shave ice, join the resort’s pastry chefs in Café Blue for an interactive, create-your-own treat hour. Pricing is a la carte.
Holiday-Inspired Painted Vine Event: December 24; 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
The Ritz-Carlton, Lake Tahoe will join with The Painted Vine, a local business based in Truckee, Calif. to offer a special evening of wine tasting and painting a vintner-inspired picture. The session will include a painting class, wine, champagne and beverages. Reservations required 72-hours in advance with the Hotel Concierge; minimum age for participation applies. $75 USD per person
Atelier Holiday Workshops: December 13 and 19; 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
The Ritz-Carlton, Lake Tahoe will join with Atelier, a local business based in Truckee, Calif. to offer creative workshops designed for kids and adults alike. On December 13, guests are invited to learn to make hand-crafted wrapping paper. Learn the basics of creating seamless patterns and different techniques for design layout. $35 USD per person. On December 19, learn to make unique, hand-made holiday cards through collage and stamping techniques. $25 USD per person. All supplies are included for both workshops. Advance reservations recommend with the Hotel Concierge.
Manzanita Lunch Buffet: December 21 to January 3; 11:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
A new skier’s lunch buffet featuring soups, salads, popular lunch entrees, seasonal vegetables and a children’s station will be offered in Manzanita daily over the holidays. $39 USD per adult, $20 per child (ages 12 and under)
Holiday Dinner in Manzanita: December 24 & 25; 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
Visitors are invited to enjoy a holiday meal with friends and family in the resort’s signature restaurant, Manzanita. A special menu developed by the chef de cuisine will include holiday-inspired dishes. Advance reservations required. A la carte pricing.
Holiday Buffet: December 25; Seatings from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Celebrate with a traditional holiday dinner in The Ritz-Carlton Ballroom featuring an extravagant buffet of seasonal, culinary delights that the entire family will enjoy. Advance reservations required. $98 USD adults, $48 USD children (ages 4 to 10)
New Year’s Eve Dinner: December 31; Seatings from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

New Year’s Eve Family Buffet: December 31; 5:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Enjoy a sumptuous buffet of seasonal, culinary delights before heading down to the Village at Northstar to ring in the New Year with a family-friendly celebration including live music, ice skating and a fireworks show at 9:00 p.m. Advance reservations required. $95 USD adults, $35 USD children (ages 4 to 10)
New Year’s Champagne Bar: December 31; 9:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m.
Cherish the memories of the previous year and create new ones with friends and family while enjoying champagne, live music and dancing.
Salon D’Art Exhibit: Daily from December 26 through December 31
Resort guests and visitors are invited to stroll the corridor from Manzanita’s entrance to the Highlands Gondola to enjoy a silent auction of artwork.
For those in need of last minute gift ideas or a little something for themselves, Holiday Spa Shopping Specials will be offered from December 18 through January 3 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Guests are invited to visit The Ritz-Carlton Spa, Lake Tahoe to enjoy the holiday spice-infused teas and treats while shopping for gifts that encourage relaxation.
The resort’s fitness studio will also offer opportunities for those interested in kicking off their New Year’s Resolutions early. Holiday-themed fitness classes including Yuletide Yoga, Holiday Heat and Winter Conditioning Bootcamp will take place in the Fitness Center Movement Studios from December 18 through January 3. $30 USD per person, per class
