New York City has its share of luxury hotel suites, but the new Bentley Suite at the St. Regis Hotel is a one-of-a-kind experience. Designed in partnership with the venerable British carmaker, the expansive 1,700-square-foot suite evokes a stylish, contemporary image with Bentley hallmarks throughout the space, from stitched leather sofas and chairs reminiscent of the car’s interiors to a custom sleigh bed made of Bentley’s signature burled wood. “It’s the only hotel suite that smells of a new car,” jokes Paul H.F. Nash, the hotel’s general manager, referring to the widely used car leather within the space.
A highlight of the one-bedroom, one-and-a-half-bath suite on the 15th floor is the dining room or entertainment space, which has a table that seats 10 with comfortable leather bucket seats, a 60-inch television, and a wall of images featuring Bentley’s heritage over the past century. The living room has a tufted leather sofa and wing chairs, and its floor-to-ceiling windows feature menswear-inspired herringbone drapery. But it’s the little details worth noticing, such as the metallic silver mirror, inspired by a carbon fiber wheel rim, which sits above an accent table that was designed to echo the Bentley’s dashboard. Plus, there are several miniature Bentley car models discreetly displayed throughout.
A stay in the Bentley suite, which is $9,500 per night, includes complimentary access to the hotel’s new custom 2013 Bentley Mulsanne within a 10-block radius of the hotel. While the hotel’s Tiffany and Dior suites portray a more feminine tone, the Bentley suite will undoubtedly appeal to both Bentley fans and men seeking their own stylish oasis in Midtown.
