Three Sonoma Wineries Team Up on Wine Adventure

Get an insider's view of winemaking in the Russian River, Dry Creek and Alexander valleys...

Healdsburg, Calif. (March 30, 2016) – Gary Farrell Winery, DaVero Farms & Winery and Lancaster Estate have joined together to offer a new immersion experience into three of Sonoma County’s most distinctive regions and the grape varieties for which they are renowned. The “Sonoma County Three Valley Adventure” gives visitors the opportunity to get an in-depth education in the microclimates and growing conditions in the Russian River, Dry Creek and Alexander valleys and to learn about the grape growing and winemaking philosophies at each winery.

At Gary Farrell Winery the day begins with a tasting of six single-vineyard Chardonnays and Pinot noirs in their private tasting salon overlooking the Russian River Valley. These signature Russian River varieties are paired with locally-sourced salumi and artisan cheeses and led by an expert wine educator, creating an intimate learning environment to explore these wines from this acclaimed region.

Just up the road in Dry Creek Valley, guests continue their adventure with a private guided tour of the DaVero estate.  After exploring the vineyards, olive groves and gardens that make up this family-owned biodynamic farm, guests will sit down to a focused tasting of their single-vineyard wines and estate olive oils along with a seasonal lunch. DaVero is known for Italian varieties such as Sagratino, Sangiovese, Barbera, Dolcetto, Pinot Nero and Carignano, which grow well in the warmer Dry Creek Valley.

Just over the hill from Dry Creek Valley is Alexander Valley, where the Three Valley Adventure concludes at Lancaster Estate. Guests will trace the evolution of the wines with a tour of the vineyards and winemaking facilities before being seated in the Lancaster Estate hillside wine cave for an educational tasting of their estate wines. Cabernet Sauvignon is king in Alexander Valley, and at Lancaster Estate, and it will be prominently featured in the tasting.

The cost, all inclusive, is $175 per person. The Sonoma Country Three Valley Adventure is offered daily by reservation only, and is a full-day experience. Reservations can be made by contacting any of the three participating wineries: Gary Farrell Vineyards and Winery, 707-473-2909; DaVero Farms and Winery 707-431-8000 ext. 1; Lancaster Estate, 707-473-3910.
