Visitors of bustling São Paulo, Brazil, have a new oasis retreat in the new Palácio Tangará, which welcomed its first guests last week. The latest opening from the prestigious Oetker Collection, the property is located in the heart of the beautifully lush Burle Marx Park, providing a verdant escape from the city that is still close to such landmarks as the MASP Museum of Art and the Jardins luxury shopping district.
Palácio Tangará has been brought to life by architect Patricia Anastassiadis and interior designer Bick Simonato. Together, they have expertly blended the Germany-based Oetker Collection’s refined European aesthetic with traditional Brazilian elements, incorporating nods to the lush landscape beyond the hotel’s walls at every opportunity. To that end, the focal point of each of the 82 guestrooms and 59 suites are the private balconies, where guests can soak in the sweeping views of the city and park. Most impressive is the 3,000-square-foot Royal Suite, which features a panoramic terrace perfect for intimate cocktail parties.
Guests can dine at one of the hotel’s Jean-Georges Vongerichten–conceived restaurants or retreat to the wine cellar where sommelier Gabriele Frizon leads tastings from Palácio’s extensive collection. Visitors will also have access to indoor and outdoor swimming pools and a six-treatment-room spa featuring exclusive treatments by Sisley-Paris. (palaciotangara.com)
