The Face of Love

Blancpain unveiled its annual limited-edition timepiece inspired by love: the ladies’ Saint Valentin 2009. The series of 99 flyback chronographs is the latest release from the legendary manufacture in Le Brassus, Switzerland. Driven by a caliber F185, this year’s $16,900 edition balances a sporty shape with intricate feminine finishes, such as a delicate mother-of-pearl dial adorned with glowing rubies in a heart shape, a sapphire crystal case back, and alligator straps. But even love has limits: Only 99 models of the timepiece will be produced. (212.396.1735, www.blancpain.com)
