Jaeger-LeCoultre’s Latest Collection Presents Two Sides of Femininity

Distinctive duality is on display with Jaeger-LeCoultre’s Reverso One collection—a feminine homage to one of the manufacture’s horologic innovations from 85 years ago. The Swiss watchmaker’s ingenious, prewar timepiece, the Reverso, featured a pivoting case that originally allowed the dial to tuck away during polo play. The latest ladies selection, however, features three elegantly elongated watches more suited to posh parties than the pitch.

A study in minimalist style, the Reverso One Réédition displays a jet-black dial contrasted with alabaster-white arabic numerals and silver-toned Dauphine hour and minute hands. The face swivels to reveal a space reserved for an engraved personalization or affirmation.

The Reverso One Cordonnet possesses an ethereal aesthetic established by its leather cord-strap—reminiscent of one found on a predecessor from 1936. A two-tone case of steel and pink gold frame a guilloché-patterned, white sunburst dial inset with blue Dauphine hour and minute hands.

Living up to its lineage, the Reverso One Duetto Moon offers different dials on the front and back. The latter features a centerpiece of two inset circles that house the hour and minute hands, as well as a lunar phase complication set below. A mother-of-pearl disc relates the current shape of the moon and accents the paillonné-enameled dial set in a choice of blue or chestnut. The front face is identical to that found on the Cordonnet. Available in either steel or 18-karat pink gold, the case is encrusted with 28 diamonds.

Contemporary twists on a classic, the Reverso One collection’s Réédition, Cordonnet, and Duetto Moon are priced at $4,900; $7,600; and from $11,500 to $38,200 (depending on case and strap selection), respectively. (jaeger-lecoultre.com)
