The judges at Robb Report’s annual Car of the Year competition in Napa Valley (taking place through November 11) are a busy lot: In just one short day, every member of each judging group will drive and evaluate 13 of the year’s most thrilling luxury vehicles—all while making time for world-class meals and vino pairings at local wineries. So what better way to stay on schedule during high-speed jaunts through the twisting back roads of wine country than with a watch that exhibits the same level of mechanical beauty and painstaking engineering as the cars being put through their paces?

With that in mind, here are 10 watches inspired by vintage motor racing that would make the perfect companions for, say, a top-down afternoon drive through Napa in a Lamborghini Huracán Spyder. —John Lyon
