Aged reposado and añejo tequilas—the so-called sipping varieties—certainly are enjoyable, but blanco tequilas offer the purest essence of agave, one that is unmasked by oak. The newly imported Partida Blanco Tequila comes from the 5,000-acre family estate in Amatitán, Jalisco, that Don Enrique Partida founded in the 1930s. After conveying a nose of fresh agave, Partida Blanco becomes suavely textured and spicy on the palate, where the agave flavors mingle with notes of pepper and vanilla.
