FrontRunners: Fuente Family Forum

<< Back to Robb Report, September 2005

The most elusive Dominican smokes have a new home at Casa Fuente (702.731.5051), a 1950s Cuba–style cocktail bar, cigar lounge, and humidor that opened at the Forum Shops at Caesars Palace in June. In addition to Dupont lighters and crystal ashtrays, the Las Vegas store—the first Arturo Fuente–authorized retail outlet—stocks virtually every brand made by the Dominican company, the world’s largest family-owned cigar manufacturer. Selections include the Diamond Crown, Maximus, Forbidden X, and all 12 shapes of the OpusX, as well as vintage cigars such as the Ashton Cabinet and VSG. The shop’s rarest offering, however, is its Casa Fuente cigar, a Cameroon-wrapped smoke that is available only on-site. “To get this cigar,” says Michael Frey, one of the Fuente family’s partners in the retail venture, “you either have to come to the store or send somebody to the store.”
