FrontRunners: Select Smoke

The legend of Camelot lives on with the Dark Knight, the latest—and strongest—addition to Villazon & Co.’s Excalibur 1066 series. (The numeral refers to the year of the Battle of Hastings.) This formidable (54 x 53/4) cigar, which shares a name with the villain who felled King Arthur, gained its moniker from its extra-dark natural Connecticut wrapper. (The four previous 1066 cigars are made with Cameroon wrapper.) Inside is Dominican, Honduran, and Nicaraguan filler, and the binder is Connecticut broadleaf. Regardless of how potent you prefer your cigars, an encounter with this Dark Knight is sure to be smoother than Arthur’s meeting with its namesake. ($5.10) www.generalcigar.com
