New York City’s Hottest Bars for Agave Spirits Are Underground [SLIDESHOW]

We’ve been noticing something lately: Along with the upswing in upscale Mexican food and drink in town, many south-of-the-border-focused spots are taking their drinking underground. Literally. In the past few months, several spots have opened semi-secret drinking dens right underneath their main establishments. We won’t pretend to know what this means, in the larger scheme of things. We will, however, point you in the right direction to check them out.

That direction is down. Here, four of our favorite spots.
