This spring, famed chef Daniel Boulud will take his cuisine from New York–where he has lived and created a gastronomic name for himself since 1982–across the pond to London and open Bar Boulud, London in the Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park Hotel.
Although the Lyon, France-born Boulud was trained by legendary chefs in his native country, it was in New York as executive chef of Le Cirque where Boulud earned his reputation. The menu at Bar Boulud, London will mirror the French techniques of the original Bar Boulud in New York, offering a full bistro menu including terrines and pâtés. An impressive selection of wines will focus on Burgundy and the Rhone Valley, and the restaurant’s vaulted ceilings, vintage oak floors, and dark leather banquettes are the chef’s nod to the winemaking region of his home country.
