The Four Seasons Hotel Boston (617.338.4400, www.fourseasons.com), long renowned for its traditional afternoon tea, offers no milk, sugar, or lemon with its new Power Tea. Nor does it have scones, jams, or any sweets. In fact, the Power Tea, which is served daily from 3 to 7 pm in the hotel’s Bristol Lounge, does not even include tea. Instead, the $95 snack (which can serve as a meal for a party of two) features Osetra caviar and smoked salmon, foie gras and cherry compote, chopped steak tartare, and quail eggs with prosciutto. “Our martinis were becoming very popular, and we wanted something beyond nuts and crisps to complement them,” explains Yasemin Wilson, the hotel’s public relations and marketing coordinator. In other words, the Power Tea is the Four Seasons’ answer to Planters and pretzels.
