LA QUINTA, Calif. – Celebrating Coachella Valley’s fresh bounty, acclaimed Chef Jimmy Schmidt invites food lovers to a Friends of James Beard Foundation (JBF) Weekend November 21 to 23 at La Quinta Resort & Club. Schmidt and visiting chefs Larry Forgione and Eduardo Ruiz will share food, beverages and new ideas with their guests while supporting the James Beard Foundation.
This interactive culinary event includes a Farmers’ Market reception and a five-course dinner at Morgan’s in the desert created by Schmidt, Chef de Cuisine Brian Recor and Forgione. A brunch and a Q&A on the “Future of Food” are planned for Sunday.
JBF Rising Star semi-finalist Ruiz is paired with Waldorf Master Chef Schmidt as part of Taste of Waldorf Astoria, a gastronomy program in partnership with JBF that pairs young chefs with Michelin-starred Waldorf Astoria chefs to create a recipe for an upcoming competition.
