The legendary Le Bristol Paris has completed its multiyear, $143 million renovation this fall with the opening of the stylish new Le Bar du Bristol. Designed by architect Pierre-Yves Rochon, Le Bar du Bristol marries classic and modern design to create an elegant space for cocktails and lounging. Head barman Maxime Hoerth, who won the Meilleur Ouvrier de France award for bartending in 2011, is serving the hotel’s signature cocktails along with new recipes. In addition to drinks, the bar will offer a menu by chef Eric Frechon, with notable dishes including tartine of salted and peppered potted duck foie gras, maki rolls with king crab and vegetables in spicy ketchup, and pata negra ham.
Mixing old and new, the stylish interior portrays an English club atmosphere with thick silk curtains, Versailles oak floors, English Petworth chairs, and 100-year-old Esher pine wall paneling. A highlight of the space will be a rotating exhibition of contemporary artwork designed to reflect the historic relationship between the art world and Le Bristol.
