On a sun-drenched morning in Southern California, I opened my courtyard gate to find a large, refrigerated bag emblazoned with The Ranch Daily logo. Inside, a bounty of chef-made, individually-packaged vegan meals (with simple heating instructions) and healthy snacks were arranged as if part of a modern-day cornucopia. The premade, plant-based fare—all meat, gluten, diary, soy, and GMO-free—is created by chef Nina Curtis and her team at The Ranch at Live Oak Malibu in Malibu, Calif.
Available in Southern Californian cities such as Los Angeles, Santa Barbara, and San Diego, the organic meal service is delivered to guests’ homes overnight so they can jumpstart each day with healthy, hearty cuisine. The ready-to-eat meals include spinach and cheese quiche, mango coconut yogurt parfaits, oyster mushroom lettuce cups, black bean and rice burrito bowls, and (my personal favorite) grilled Portobello mushroom with cauliflower mash and Swiss chard. Snacks such as kiwi chews, zucchini chips, and granola speckled with cashews and dates provide needed boosts of energy throughout the day.
Customers can choose between a two- and three-meal plan for three, five, or 20-day increments. A convenient auto-renew option allows guests to easily customize their meal bundle if they are out of town or want fewer meals in a given week. The meal plans start at $79 per day—making healthy eating easier than ever. (theranchdaily.com)
