The Restaurant at Meadowood, one of Napa Valley’s favorite destinations, has freshened up its design, added an expansive bar menu, and opened a new lounge, where guests can order cocktails and snacks.
Meadowood’s lounge (with 20-foot-high beamed ceilings and large windows looking out to the lush property) has a warm, homey feeling, with three fireplaces and new, specially designed tables made of limestone and 100-year-old salvaged wood. The recently expanded bar now offers a three-course dinner menu ($90 per person), which changes nightly to feature imaginative variations on a series of rotating seasonal dishes. For spring, those might include pea salad with white-chocolate olive oil and pistachio; warm caviar with avocado; wild cod with sunchokes; and lamb in pickled lime with lentils and bone marrow.
The new private dining room accommodates up to 12 guests and overlooks the property’s golf course and croquet lawn. The previous private dining space has been converted into a wine cellar, crafted from rich walnut wood, where patrons can check out new vintages from Spring Mountain, Freemark Abbey, Ovid, and more.
