Celebrity chef Scott Conant had a brief hiatus from L.A. when he closed down his Beverly Hills restaurant Scarpetta last year. But he bounced back quickly, taking over the space where beloved French brasserie Terrine had once resided to open The Ponte. Of course, there’s Conant’s trademark Pasta al Pomodoro to order during your pasta course, and for an entrée, the wood-roasted branzino with salsa verde over roasted leeks, manila clams, and cipollini onions is pretty great.
Bartender Ryan Wainwright creates an outstanding cocktail list that features a bit of an Italian accent, mixing many drinks with various amaros he’s collected. Make sure to finish off your night with his award-winning drink, Lucano Correcto. It’s a mix of coffee-infused amaro Lucano, Diplomatico Reserva rum, Café Moka, cream, and chocolate bitters, all topped with shaved chocolate.
