Extravagant tasting menus had long been out of fashion in the city when chef Patrick Kriss and general manager Amanda Bradley opened this third-floor fine-dining room in late 2015. But Alo brought the style back single-handedly. The exquisite, world-class dishes, no less than the warm, utterly unpretentious hospitality with which they’re served, make this a miraculous dining experience—a night out so casually dazzling that even the bread and butter tends to leave you wonderstruck.
