To create the flavors at their ice cream shop Adrienne Borlongan and Jon-Patrick Lopez were inspired by their travels, drawing on ingredients and flavors the world over. Borlongan then combined that inspiration with her background as a food scientist to create unique ice creams. For instance, Wanderlust’s Japanese Neapolitan swaps out the classic strawberry, chocolate, and vanilla for matcha, hojicha, and black sesame; and their Iceland-inspired pretzel and rugbraud features pretzel-infused ice cream with caramelized rye crumbs.
