Expectations were high for this newly opened sushi bar featuring chef Samuel Clonts, who previously cooked at the three-Michelin-starred Brooklyn Fare. It’s an understatement to say Clonts met those expectations with Bar Uchū. Everything at this serene, intimate sushi spot is artful and considered—from the precisely prepared and plated food to the expansive selection of Japanese whiskies to the vintage Japanese glasses and dishware. The tasting menu starts at $200 per person, but it’s worth the hefty price tag. While every dish is Instagram-worthy, this is a spot to visit without your phone so you can fully immerse your senses and mind in the experience.
