The Clocktower, New York City
Acclaimed Philly restaurateur Stephen Starr is known for his every-detail-considered themed joints, from French bistros to Bavarian beer gardens. The Clocktower is among the newest of his six New York establishments and the only one (so far) to receive a Michelin star. Think of this spot as a London gastropub taken to indulgent, clubby-chic extremes. The menu is packed with elevated pub fare, from quail-and-pigeon pie to fish and chips. Located in the Edition Hotel, the chef behind the menu is Jason Atherton, a Brit who earned a Michelin star across the pond at London’s Pollen Street Social. Especially as the weather turns cool and your body starts begging for butter-soaked body insulation, few Manhattan restaurants are this inviting.
