The latest line of humidors from Davidoff of Geneva (212.751.9060, www.davidoff.com) could clash with the more traditional woodwork in your smoking den. The Griffin’s humidor, named for the popular Geneva-based Griffin’s Club, is flirty, even audacious, with a selection of exterior finishes that includes radiant eye-maple blue, red, and yellow, as well as exotic Makassar, Vavona, and Makore woods. “Our target audience for the Griffin’s humidor prefers the more colorful and less natural wood finishes,” says David Kitchens, general manager of Davidoff’s Madison Avenue store. “These colorful boxes are a true counterpoint to the Davidoff, Zino, or Avo humidors.”
The odorless Sapele wood interiors feature Davidoff’s proprietary self-regulating humidification system. Griffin’s humidors, priced from $660 to $1,360, are handcrafted in France and are available in 50-, 75-, and 120-cigar capacities, with the larger sizes featuring removable trays, locks, and marquetry edges.
