If you manage to track down a bottle, what you’re getting is a robust, complex spirit made from 100 percent Canadian rye grain seasoned for 16 years inside newly charred American oak barrels. It’s got the heat and intensity you’d expect from any whiskey bottled at 123.8 proof, but the alcohol’s oomph is tempered with pleasant sweetness and the rye’s herbaceous influence.
