Tatomer 2014 Grüner Veltliner Meeresboden Santa Barbara County
Graham Tatomer developed an unquenchable affinity for Grüner Veltliner while working at the famed Weingut Emmerich Knoll in Austria’s Wachau appellation. He returned to California’s Central Coast to shine a spotlight on the grape in his home soil. With tantalizing spiciness and unique aromas, Tato-mer’s small-production wine is derived from some of the coolest sites in northwestern Santa Barbara County. The diatomaceous earth and loam lend it a remarkable minerality.
- Tatomer crafts his wines with a traditional, hands-off approach.
- Aromas include green apple, white peach, radish, lime blossom, white pepper, and crushed stones.
- The mineral-driven palate is medium bodied and refreshes on even the steamiest days with lively acidity.
