Healdsburg, California (April 19, 2016) – Three of the most acclaimed wineries along Westside Road and Eastside Road in Sonoma County’s Russian River Valley have teamed up to offer an in-depth tasting experience that explores the nuances of terroir and winemaking with Pinot noir and Chardonnay. Gary Farrell Winery, Arista Winery and Copain Wines now present visitors with a day-long Westside-Eastside Road Terroir Tour to give guests an unusual way to experience these limited production wines sourced from their vineyards in Sonoma and Mendocino counties.
The day begins at Arista Winery on Westside Road on the mezzanine overlooking one of their five sustainably-farmed, estate vineyards. A private host guides guests through a tutored tasting of Arista Pinot noirs and Chardonnays from Sonoma and Mendocino counties, examining how each vineyard’s character is expressed in the wine. The tasting is enhanced by small bites from Arista’s executive chef, Timothy Kaulfers.
Gary Farrell Winery is the next stop, where guests experience a terroir tasting and lunch at this 34-year-old pioneer of the Russian River Valley. Set in the winery’s private salon, the tasting explores some of the valley’s most renowned vineyards through its wines, including a special flight of current and library releases. An estate ambassador pours six highly-allocated releases of single-vineyard Chardonnay and Pinot noir, followed by a locally-sourced wine country lunch.
The tour then takes guests to a taste of opulence at Copain Wines on Eastside Road. An Anderson Valley specialist, Copain presents a carefully curated tasting of newly-released and library vintages of vineyard-designated Chardonnay, Pinot noir and Syrah. Cool-climate wines from three distinct growing regions will be poured in the scenic hillside tasting room, and local cheeses, charcuterie and seasonal fruits will complement the wines.
The cost, all inclusive, is $200 per person. The Westside-Eastside Road Terroir Tour is offered by reservation only and is a full-day experience. Reservations can be made by contacting any of the three participating wineries: Arista Winery, 707-473-0606, firstname.lastname@example.org; Gary Farrell Winery, 707-473-2909, email@example.com ; Copain Wines 707-836-8822, firstname.lastname@example.org.
