The Macallan Releases Four Rare Blends with Artistic Flair

The Macallan has commissioned photographer Annie Leibovitz to create a series of photos inspired by four rare single-cask whiskies—drawn from the distillery’s oldest maturing blends—which it’s releasing for the first time this month in just 1,000 limited-edition bottles (at $2,750 apiece), each paired with a signed print by Leibovitz. Additionally, in celebration of the artist’s birth year, the Macallan has uncovered four bottles of its 1949 vintage from the distillery’s Fine and Rare collection (at $25,000 apiece), which will come with a signed one-off, gallery-sized print.

The collaboration is a part of the Macallan’s Masters of Photography series, which brings whisky makers and artists together for unique visual projects. As the first color photographer chosen for the series, Leibovitz infused the spirit’s rich color and warm palette into her photographs. (www.themastersofphotography.com)
