Tasting notes: Full-bodied, this vintage is a complex blend of dark berry, coffee, and mineral that remains balanced and precise to its lengthy finish. Worth knowing: Long regarded by many as the first “First Growth” of California, Harlan Estate is situated in the rolling foothills of the Mayacama Mountains above what is known as the Oakville Bench. Consisting of 240 acres planted with cabernet sauvignon, merlot, cabernet franc, and petit verdot, the estate focuses on two wines, the Proprietary Red and the Maiden.
