Crown Point Estate Cabernet Sauvignon
A serious new addition to the Santa Barbara winemaking community, Crown Point Vineyards is one of a handful of pioneers demonstrating that the Happy Canyon region of the Santa Ynez Valley can produce remarkable Cabernet Sauvignon. Proprietor Roger Bower was drawn to this area because of its elevation, loamy soils, and east-west-oriented mountain range, which allows Pacific-cooled air to lower the nighttime temperatures—an essential requirement for Bordeaux varietals.
The Crown Point Estate Cabernet Sauvignon is a beautiful orchestration of structure and richness, showing subtle earthy notes of wild mushroom and black coffee on the nose, accompanied on the palate by flavors of boysenberry, grilled bread, and intense minerality floating on a current of vibrant tannins.
