Earlier this year, German optics brand Zeiss introduced a compact new addition to its flagship Victory binocular collection. As its name suggests, the Victory Pocket binoculars are small (4.5 inches wide by 4.4 inches long), lightweight (10.9 ounces), and collapsible, making it easy to slip them into a jacket pocket before an impromptu hike. Ideally suited for birdwatching, the Pocket’s extra-wide field of view makes spotting rare avian species a snap.
Zeiss’s proprietary multi-layer lens coating helps the binoculars perform at their peak, even in low-light conditions, while a final coating of LotuTec keeps water and dirt from accumulating on the lenses. The rubber casing of the binoculars is shock resistant and completely waterproof and its optical tubes are filled with nitrogen to prevent fogging, ensuring that the pair is ready for whatever nature throws at it.
The Victory Pocket is available with either 8X ($750) or 10X ($800) magnification and comes with a carrying case.
