New York, NY (June 28, 2010) – Hublot is proud to be the first luxury watch brand ever to become the official timekeeper of the FIFA World Cup 2010. This summer, in order to celebrate this partnership, the Swiss watch brand will be hosting a series of exclusive live screenings for the final four games starting July 6th at Cipriani Wall Street’s Club 55 in New York City.
The events will feature a Hublot Café and Bar where guests will be able to immerse themselves in these exciting games at the private cinema room while enjoying Hublotista themed drinks and passed hors d’oeuvres. A private viewing of some of the hottest Hublot summer and sports timepieces, including the limited edition watch of the FIFA World Cup, Maradona limited edition and the Manchester United will also be available.
“We are happy to offer this experience to Hublot and World Cup fans alike”, says Hublot’s CEO Jean-Claude Biver. “The Cup is such a wonderful fusion of humanity and passions with thousands of different expressions and colors. It reminds me of a saying I heard a few days ago from a big soccer fan: ‘The Earth is round because God loves soccer’”.
To encourage the fan’s fervor, Hublot will also create a “Hublot world” experience to provide additional entertainment. Guests will enjoy a special music, a Wii console to take on the roles of their favorite soccer players and much more.
In just five years, Hublot has become one of the most sought-out high-end watch brands with some of its timepieces making watch history, such as the One Million Dollar Big Bang, All Black Big Bang and Mag Bang watches. In 2008 Hublot was bought by the LVMH group with Jean-Claude Biver undoubtedly enjoying his constant challenge as CEO of the brand and leading the company’s guiding principle of “Fusion,” which combines unusual materials such as gold with ceramic, tantalum, magnesium and titanium with a modern version of Hublot’s rubber strap.
