Ananda in the Himalayas Introduces Bespoke Fitness Programs With Sumaya

New Delhi, India – Ananda in the Himalayas, the award-winning destination spa known for its holistic approach to wellness, announces today a new partnership with New Delhi-based SUMAYA.  The collaboration enhances the destination spa’s wellness offerings with new bespoke fitness programs.

SUMAYA is the brainchild of Sumaya Dalmia, renowned for her contributions toward changing the face of the Indian fitness industry over the last two decades. SUMAYA’s core focus is personal training, which blends with Ananda’s philosophy of personalized holistic wellness.

“This is a unique collaboration between Delhi’s best personal training team and India’s top destination spa, which will help define and achieve guest’s individual fitness goals,” says Sumaya Dalmia, founder of SUMAYA. “With a highly qualified team of professionals, we will design customized one-to-one personal training programs for guests at Ananda to achieve individual goals and address any specific health concerns, including rehabilitation, advanced level fitness, weight loss programs, organize outdoor boot camps and more.”

Beginning June 2015, each of Ananda’s wellness programs will include an exclusive fitness consultation with a SUMAYA certified expert to assess an individual’s fitness levels and needs. A customized plan will then be created with specific goals to include dedicated fitness sessions and guidance along with the proven Ananda practices of Ayurveda, Yoga and Meditation. A comprehensive fitness debrief will be provided with follow-up training guidelines. Similar to the ongoing communication with Ayurvedic Doctors and Yoga Masters, guests will have the option of continuing to communicate and receive advice from fitness experts following their stay at Ananda.

In the fourth quarter of 2015, Ananda and SUMAYA will launch a series of indoor and outdoor intensive fitness camps along with carefully packaged fitness programs to include personalized fitness sessions complimented by signature Ananda Ayurvedic therapies, Yoga and Meditation.

“We strive to continuously evolve the wellness experience at Ananda” says Nikhil Kapur, general manager at Ananda in the Himalayas. “SUMAYA will bring expertise to help define and achieve individual fitness goals. Aside from introducing a completely tailor-made fitness schedule within each of our signature wellness programs, we will also offer dedicated fitness and advanced strengthening programs for guests who are fitness enthusiasts.”

As the fitness experts at Ananda undergo a comprehensive training and certification program with SUMAYA, an upgrade of the spa’s state-of-the-art gymnasium is currently underway.
