A towering oak tree stands watch over the newly constructed Meadowood Spa, an all-suite spa at Napa Valley’s charming Meadowood Napa Valley resort. Inside, rustic reclaimed-wood beams and a fireplace, accented with hand-forged steel, mirror the muted olive-green and brown colors of the surrounding forest. Fountains made of wood, steel, and stone lead the way to the spa’s standout feature: eight individual treatment suites, each equipped with private bathrooms, steam showers, built-in lounge areas, and sliding windows that offer views of the forestation outside. Upon entering the suites, guests will be treated to a signature tea and a pretreatment experience (aromatherapy steam shower, foot bath, or dry body brushing). A knowledgeable spa therapist will then create a personalized treatment plan based on each individual’s preferences.
In addition to the standard 90-minute treatment, guests can choose from five unique packages: From the Vines, a vino-inspired massage and facial; From the Earth, a black-walnut scrub and hot-stone massage; The Air We Breathe, a detoxifying mud wrap, leg scrub, and facial; From the Garden, a treatment featuring seasonal ingredients; and The Meadowood Curated Collection, a 5.5-hour experience with a scrub, wrap, facial, and massage. Each spa package (priced from $595 to $1,235) includes lunch and plenty of relaxation time. Pre- or post-treatment, guests can order elixirs, house-dried fruits, and other bites from the spa menu and then unwind in gender-specific relaxation gardens with steam rooms, saunas, and mineral soaking pools. The new spa was part of Meadowood Napa Valley’s $60 million renovation that also saw the guest rooms redesigned and improvements made to the resort’s nine-hole golf course. (meadowood.com)
