NEW YORK (April 14, 2014)– Curtco Media, parent to the international luxury lifestyle authority Robb Report and a family of publications and sites targeted to the world’s most affluent readers, today announced the establishment of Robb Report Health & Wellness, a quarterly publication and site devoted to helping sophisticated readers become health connoisseurs.
Robb Report Health & Wellness features a distinct perspective on cutting-edge medical advances in prevention, treatment, longevity, and technology, as well as the art of living well through fitness, nutrition, philanthropy, and travel. It guides readers in balancing their physical and emotional well-being to optimize their enjoyment of life. In addition, Robb Report Health & Wellness provides access to pioneering information and care from the country’s top health-care professionals.
The new title will operate under the direction of the recently appointed Robb Report Health & Wellness Division President, Jeanne Fontana, MD, PhD. Dr. Fontana brings extensive experience to the newly created position, including patient care, basic scientific and medical research, health-care services, health-care policy, and biotech funding. For the past 15 years, Dr. Fontana has focused on finding a cure for Lou Gehrig’s disease (ALS) as well as providing patient services to those living with ALS and their families. She has served on the board of two preeminent California research institutes: the Sanford-Burnham Institute for Medical Research and the California Institute for Regenerative Medicine (the world’s largest—$3 billion—granting agency for stem-cell research).
The newly named Editor, Janice O’Leary, will oversee the publication’s editorial operations. Ms. O’Leary joins Curtco Media from Boston Common magazine, where she served as editor in chief. Ms. O’Leary has also held editorial positions at Body & Soul magazine and Harvard Medical School.
“Robb Report Health & Wellness will empower readers to make the best health-care decisions for themselves and their families,” explained Dr. Fontana. “Our goal is to ensure that our audience has access to the best health-care information, products, and services available. We will also feature the finest wellness programs at the most respected spas, fitness camps, and resorts.”
The publication’s Spring issue offers an abundance of news and information, led by its cover feature on the internationally acclaimed chef and restaurateur Wolfgang Puck, author of a new book that emphasizes a healthy, balanced lifestyle. Also included are reviews of the Turks and Caicos fitness-themed resorts Amanyara and Parrot Cay; an interview with Larry Ruvo, founder of the Lou Ruvo Center For Brain Health in Las Vegas; a report on the latest stem-cell therapies; and a look at revolutionary Athos training gear.
