Since legendary jeweler and watchmaker Piaget selects locations for its boutiques as carefully as it designs and crafts its watch cases, plans to open a boutique in Las Vegas had to wait until Piaget could find a venue that met the highest of standards. The Shoppes at The Palazzo, located in what is now the city’s most prestigious luxury retail environment, presented just such an opportunity in 2008.
Occupying a coveted corner location in The Shoppes at The Palazzo, the Piaget Boutique spans approximately 1,000 square feet. Surrounded by three walls of windows, the boutique’s luxurious and inviting interior conveys a sense of modern classicism. Following Piaget’s global retail concept, the boutique blends clean lines with rich woods and stone, creating the ideal neutral backdrop for viewing Piaget’s dazzling jewelry and exquisite timepieces.
Visitors to the boutique will find prominently featured in its stand-alone display units a new Piaget collection that illustrates perfectly the tenet that remembering the past helps write the future. Pairing dynamic design with perfectly mastered technology, on the 30th birthday of its legendary Polo collection, Piaget infuses new energy into the line with unexpected materials, a sporty look, and in-house calibers. The result: Piaget Polo FortyFive.
Reinterpreting the original collection in an assertively modern style, Polo FortyFive includes four new watches that are sporty and contemporary in spirit. Made of titanium, a first for the brand, the watertight case re-imagines the original aesthetic and expands it to a diameter of 45mm, a more contemporary size.
The case, integrated with a strap made of injection-moulded rubber, also features a new curve that ensures a good fit to the wrist. Revealing Piaget’s own 800P and 880P movements, the sapphire case back was designed and developed entirely in-house. And while the Polo FortyFive is a reinterpretation of a classic, the one constant is Piaget’s incomparable attention to even the smallest detail.
The subtle marriage of polished and satin-finished surfaces, newly interpreted in titanium and steel, accentuates the Polo FortyFive’s powerful new character. The sapphire case back is circular-grained with beveled bridges, a circular Côtes de Genève pattern, and the brand’s signature aesthetic—blued screws. And the finishing touch: A PVD-treated dark-gray winding rotor is engraved with the Piaget emblem.
Enriching the Piaget collection, the Polo FortyFive proves that remembering the past with an exceptional sense of craftsmanship can, without question, enrich the future.
