As a Rugby aficionado and world renowned Chef, Pierre Koffmann has invited two of England’s much loved rugby professionals, Tom Croft and Matt Smith, into his kitchen in Koffmann’s at the Berkeley to kick start the Rugby World Cup by together creating a ‘Rugby Specials Menu’.
Celebrating the Rugby World Cup and their longstanding careers playing professional rugby for England and Leicester Tigers, Tom Croft and Matt Smith are bringing balls to Koffmann’s kitchen with their ‘Rugby Specials Menu’. Offering a combination of the players’ favourite dishes and Pierre’s classics, the menu will run throughout the Rugby World Cup from 18th September until 31st October 2015. 5% of each dish will be donated to the Matt Hampson Foundation, a charity helping sporting professionals suffering from irreversible injuries – a cause close to both Croft and Smith.
The ‘Rugby Specials Menu’ includes a choice of two starters, Coquille St Jacques in squid ink and Calamars Bolognaise; two main courses with the players’ all-time favourite of Beef Wellington and Hare a la Royale, championing the game season; and to finish there will be a selection of two puddings including Koffmann’s signature Pistachio Soufflé and Vanilla Cheesecake. The ‘Rugby Specials Menu’ will compliment the seasonal dishes of Koffmann’s a la carte menu, influenced by Pierre’s Gascon heritage. Priced at £60 per person, this set menu will include a choice of three courses as well as tea or coffee to finish.
For those wishing to experience the action of the Rugby World Cup with Koffmann’s cooking, a screen will be set up in the Private Dining Room seating up to 20 guests for those looking to combine their love of rugby with some of the city’s finest French fare.
