A multigenerational Australian pearling family, the Paspaleys have been international pioneers in cultured Pinctada maxima oyster pearl farming techniques—as well as in the design of the eventual finished pieces. The company has been at the forefront of keeping the appeal of pearls fresh, as evidenced by the fall 2017 launch of its Rockpool Collection, which incorporates Paraiba tourmaline (said to be the rarest gemstone in the world). Paspaley accounts for 70 percent of Australian pearl production and has been instrumental in earning a sustainability award from the UK Marine Stewardship Council.
