Crazy Mountain Motorsports’ CMX-X Sleds

WHAT: High-horsepower powder sled

WHY: You sure won’t need a push

Crazy Mountain Motorsports’ CMX-X sleds ($27,500) are custom made by hand from the ground up. The Montana-based company started building its machines in 1991 and has been satisfying horsepower-hungry sledders ever since. Crazy Mountain uses a factory Polaris cast-aluminum bulkhead and overstructure, and a 2-stroke liquid-cooled 795 cc Polaris Liberty engine, but makes everything else. To minimize drag, the CMX-X rides a little higher than other sleds to create more clearance over the snow. Additional refinements to the drive system and track make for better geometry and ergonomics while giving the rider easier handling and a fun ride.
