Bell Unveils Its Next-Generation Jet Ranger Helicopter

The new 505 Jet Ranger X can serve as a small business aircraft…

The Bell 505 Jet Ranger X evolved from a long line of helicopters dating back to the 1960s, and the Hurst, Texas, company says all those years of innovation and listening to customer feedback are reflected in the design. This latest Jet Ranger has a bigger cabin, with a fully flat floor and double doors for easy loading. The helicopter was designed to meet a variety of missions, including corporate and private transport. Classed as a short-light single-engine helicopter, the new Jet Ranger can seat up to four passengers and one pilot, it cruises at about 145 mph, and it can travel more than 400 miles nonstop.

Available options include metallic exterior paint, a leather interior, and air-conditioning. A Garmin G1000H integrated avionics suite and digital engine controls help reduce pilot workload. The new design was unveiled at the Heli-Expo in Anaheim, Calif., early this month and will fly for the first time by the end of this year. Customers can browse all of the options at the Bell website and then connect directly with a sales representative. A fully loaded Jet Ranger X with a corporate configuration sells for about $1.3 million. (www.bell505.com)
