The Best of the Best 2003: Business Jets – Dassault Falcon 2000

The speed, technology, and comfort of the Dassault Falcon 2000 made the jet one of the best-selling aircraft last year; one out of every five large-cabin business jets sold in 2002 was the twin-engine Falcon. “It validates what we’ve been saying all along about the capabilities and cost-efficiency of the Falcon 2000,” says John Rosanvallon, president of Dassault Falcon.

For $20 million, a Falcon 2000 owner can enjoy a jet that, with an eight-passenger load, has a range of 3,450 miles, which is long enough to complete a nonstop Seattle-to-Miami flight. The plane’s full authority digital engine control (FADEC) engines efficiently regulate the amount of fuel that the CFE738 turbofans consume, accounting for its range and reducing operating costs while still delivering enough power to catapult the jet to 43,000 feet in only 27 minutes. There it can travel above bad weather and hit its 528-mph cruising speed.
