Boasting the longest range of any business jet in service, the Gulfstream G650ER (gulfstream.com) can fly more than 8,600 miles nonstop at a cruising speed of 562 mph (when transporting eight passengers and four crew members). The $66.5 million jet is an enhanced version of the G650. It can carry 4,000 additional pounds of fuel compared to the G650, which enables it to travel nearly 600 miles farther. (For $2 million, Gulfstream will upgrade an existing G650 to G650ER specifications.) Under the right conditions, the G650ER can take off from London and fly nonstop to any country in the world except Australia. It has a top speed of 610 mph, and it has set a speed record by flying from Teterboro, N.J., to Hong Kong in just over 14 hours.
The jet also features one of the roomiest cabins in business aviation. The passenger area is 47 feet long, 6 feet 5 inches tall, and 8 feet 6 inches wide. It has lavatories forward and aft and can be configured to include a private office or bedroom. Passengers can avail themselves of two multichannel satellite communication systems, a private wireless network, and a high-speed data system for web and e-mail communications.
