The turbocharged, top-of-the-line Cirrus SR22T (cirrusaircraft.com) packs a lot into a small package. It has room for as many as three passengers in the backseat and two up front. The cockpit is designed to make it easy for an owner-pilot to handle the flying. It is equipped with Cirrus Perspective avionics by Garmin, synthetic vision, and an autopilot with electronic stability and stall protection. The SR22T also features the ultimate safety feature: a ballistic parachute that can lower the entire aircraft safely to the ground in an emergency.
For its 2015 models, the company has added UV protection to the windows (it keeps the cabin 30 percent cooler) and installed four USB charging ports. The SR22T can fly nonstop for more than 975 miles and cruise as fast as 245 mph. Fully loaded (including air-conditioning), it is priced at $820,800.
