Midsize Jet: Cessna Citation Latitude
It didn’t take long for the Cessna Citation Latitude to become the world’s best-selling midsize jet and one of the most popular business jets overall. In 2016, a year after the aircraft entered service, Textron Aviation, the owner of the Cessna brand, delivered 42 examples of the Citation Latitude, making it that year’s most-delivered midsize jet. Last year the delivery number jumped to 54, placing the $16.65 million aircraft second only to the Bombardier Challenger 350 in deliveries among all business jets.
The Latitude’s flat-floor cabin—the first in the Citation line—offers six feet of headroom. It’s nearly 22 feet long and can accommodate as many as nine passengers. The pressurization system gives passengers the feeling of flying at just 5,950 feet when the airplane is traveling at its maximum operating altitude of 45,000 feet. The jet’s maximum range without passengers is 3,280 miles, and it can fly more than 3,100 miles nonstop when carrying four passengers and traveling at its high cruising speed of 513 mph. The cockpit is equipped with Garmin G5000 touchscreen avionics with synthetic-vision technology.
