With eye-catching design and precise performance, the “Montblanc for BMW” Centennial Fountain Pen is much like the car it celebrates—the BMW Individual 7 Series the Next 100 Years model made to honor the German carmaker’s 100th anniversary. Based off of Montblanc’s Meisterstück 149 piston fountain pen, the commemorative writing implement marks the collaboration of Montblanc’s creative director, Zaim Kamal, and BMW’s head of design, Karim Habib.
Complementing the car, the writing instrument features a skeletonized rhodium-plated grid design reflective of the patterned Merino-leather interior of the specialty 7 Series, and is resin-finished to match the automobile’s fashionable blue facade. In addition, the 18-karat gold rhodium-plated nib bears BMW’s “7” motif, while Montblanc’s snow-covered-mountain logo is made of quartz and black onyx at the pen’s summit. And of the same color and patterning as the striking stylo is the accompanying full-grain calfskin carrying pouch.
Montblanc’s unique pen will be gifted with each limited-edition BMW 7 Series bought, and though both are capped at just 100 examples, they are sure to leave an indelible impression. (montblanc.com)
